CABC 2011: In the beginning, teaching on Genesis by John Lennox

Is Genesis relevant in the 21st Century? Does modern science make a mockery of a Christian understanding of the universe?

In a world where we are told that science has all the answers and the Bible is dismissed as irrelevant, what can the book of Genesis tell us about the meaning of life, and who we are?

Popular opinion says that atheism is the only intelligent thing to believe, but John Lennox believes passionately that the Bible offers a real and better alternative. Since his own days as a student when he was challenged on these issues, John has regularly interacted with leading scientists and atheists around the world (Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Hawking to name a few), pointing out the flaws in popular atheistic thought and logic. John is utterly convinced of the truth of Christianity, and is committed to showing ordinary people that the Bible makes sense.

John is looking forward to showing us that not only is Genesis relevant in the 21st Century, but that it is fundamental to both understanding who we are, and what the meaning of life is.

John Lennox is an engaging and charismatic speaker, in high demand around the world. He enjoys looking at the big questions people are interested in, relating science, philosophy and theology to everyday life; and he communicates in an accessible and down-to-earth manner. John is married to Sally and they have three children and four grandchildren.
